Gift cards & discounts

Selling gift cards, running discount codes and using account credit.

On this page 3

Three ways to reward customers and bring in bookings — all applied at checkout.

Gift cards

Create a gift card on the Gift cards page:

  1. Set a value (in £) and a code (for example GIFT-ABC).
  2. Optionally add a recipient name/email and an expiry date.

Give the code to the recipient. They enter it at checkout and it draws down as they spend — a card can be used across several bookings until it runs out. If a booking paid with a gift card is cancelled, the credit goes back onto the card.

Discount codes

On the Discount codes page, create a code that's either:

  • a percentage off (e.g. 10%), or
  • a fixed amount off (e.g. £5).

You can add a minimum spend, a usage limit and an expiry date. Customers type the code at checkout; it's checked automatically. A 100%-off code simply makes the booking free.

Account credit (wallet)

Some customers will have account credit — for example from a refund to credit. It applies automatically to their next booking (after any discount or gift card), and they can see their balance in their account portal.

Note

Discounts and credit come off the amount charged, so the customer pays less and the card charge is smaller. Gift cards and account credit are yours to honour — they're not money we hold.
